Default Jets Over Kentucky 2016 "The World's Grandest Jet Event"

"World's Grandest Jet Event"

Jets Over Kentucky Week July 10TH-17TH - 2016

Jets Over Kentucky Week will offer even more excitement for 2016. Jets Over Kentucky drew 160 pilots last year, and this year we're expecting 200 pilots from all over the world to attend.

Uninterrupted flying for our pilots the entire week. Flying will begin each day at 8:00am and concludes at darkness. All flying will be done from the main runway (5000 ft).

Jet Central has sponsored three "Big Top Tents" (40X200) for our pilots. Two of the big tents are parallel to the concrete taxiway, and the third is in the grass, and parallel to the main runway. This Big Top will give pilots a clear view of all flying. A transport vehicle and trailer will be located at this tent for moving aircraft to the flight line. Pilots needing more space can rent as many sections as they need. Big Top Tents #1 and #2 will come with sides this year; the cost will be added to the price of those tents this year. This will allow for storage in those areas if needed. We are expecting 200 pilots this year, and we will use this option for storage if desired. Pilots who rented space last year, will have first preference for the 10X40 slots. The remaining 120ft of the"Big Tops," will still be available as free pilot space for pre-registered pilots who had them last year. New pilots to the event will get free space if available, so make sure to pre-register. There are two options for registration this year. We're happy to add RC Flightdeck this year for your added convenience. We have plenty of space for all, so those new to the event shouldn't worry. Rental space in the 40X200 in the grass area is still 200.00, and if sides are desired, they are 50.00.

Pop up tents are also welcome, and will be placed perpendicular to the east side Big Top in the grass area. No pop tents will be allowed on the taxiway or in between the Big Top Tents and the runway.

Vendors Row like last year is perpendicular to the west Big Top (grass area). Vendors who secured space on the taxiway last year will keep that space.

We'll have additional pilot space in the 40X200 tent located in the grassy area west of the taxiway. 10 slots in all big top tents will be premium rental space, and the remaining will be free pilot space. Pilots with free space will not have the entire slot to themselves. Depending on the number of aircraft, two or three pilots will share these accommodations. Pilots in all rental slots may choose to divide their slots with friends, or remain private.Even more prizes, awards, and surprises for our pilots this year!

Free Thursday Night Dinner to registered pilots (additional tickets 10.00)(waiting on reply from sponsor).

Friday night dinner (free to registered pilots, and sponsored by Jet Central)(additional tickets 10.00).

Two Jet Central Engines, Four Spektrum Radios, Two JR Radios, Donated Kits and Accessories from sponsors, Money (50-50 drawing); more prizes to be announced later.

Thursday evening swap meet.

Saturday Night Awards Dinner (20.00 per person).

Fighter Jet Showdown, Sport Jet Showdown, 28 awards, Parade of Lights, Fireworks, T-28 Special,, and much more.

Special Thanks to the City of Lebanon, Ky, The
Lebanon Tourist & Convention Commission, and the Lebanon Springfield Airport.

Pre-registration is 60.00, and regular on-site registration is 75.00(must pre-register by June 1st to keep your reserved tent space from 2015). Regular Pre-registration deadline June 25th.

For sure, It looks like I may have the same arrangements as last year. Still planning to get a whirly bird over there one day, as long as the weather is good should be a go.

She will be ready to touch down like a little feather of goose down. Who is starting up the RV parking lot diagram? Count Rich and I in!!

Rich is taking care of the RV parking and tent diagram again this year. He should have something as soon as we get everything confirmed in those areas. The tents in particular may go from 200ft to 240ft, or 260ft. Will know in a few days.

Keith Yates and myself were out this past weekend warming the runway in anticipation of KY Jets 2016 . Keith got to maiden his new A-7 which went flawless. Congratulations Keith, hope you have many enjoyable flights. FBO walked all the way down and out to the end of the taxiway just to get some photos for their Facebook page. Said he really wants to get the word out for the event.

We're planning to arrive that date as well, although we could be there earlier. Seems this year we have an extra week between Jets Over the Heartland and Kentucky Jets. Still working out where to go between the two events. Are you guys going to be in the area early?
