Really enjoying this thread, thanks for sharing guys! Ravill what is the OD of the fans?
May have a use for a pair in another project. If I can swallow the 790 euro cost. Wow.
Keep posting!

If anyone is interested im a dealer for Mibo now, will be adding everything to my website this week. It takes me a while to figure that stuff out and I need to redo a bunch of stuff.
Once I get back to some kind of normal job I plane to keep at least one on hand, but since I lost my airline job I will just do normal orders. Cheers

The replacement fan center section as received and found no issues with using the original bearings. They sure are expensive but look good.

The fans are 7.25”

I’m glad you like!

I have a public service announcement. I was soldering up my horizontal and vertical stab servos and as I was moving the surfaces, one of my metal ball joints popped off on my port horizontal stab...Yikes! That’s when I saw that there is a lip on one side of the outer ball link that keeps the ball in the joint. If you get that backwards, the ball joint can pop off. Check those out if you use the mibo hardware!

Oh and I used this powerbox wire and it was amazing! It seems very thin but the amount of wire inside is amazing. It is supple and easy to use. I bought an 85’ roll from Dreamworks and it maybe all I use from now on!

Thanks Rav for the dia. Too large for me but i like the concept and drew up a version of it in 3D CAD this afternoon. Nice catch on the ball links! A washer under the bolt head adds some backup reassurance also. PB wire is really great stuff, as are their servo ends, makes making your own extensions an easier task than in the past.

I'm making slight progress on mine. Been trying since several days to get the good mix ratio for the gray. My painter did a mistake and I have to repaint the flaps.
I'm also doing the prework for the weathering process.
I was mainly working on chipping, it's a little too heavy but I like it.
I hope it's fine if I post some pictures even if it's not a gen6.

Jimibar, post up man!!

I have been working on my mibo, slowly but surely.

I have my engines, K160 G4’s.

And wow, I always forget how much wire goes into building these bad boys!!

And learning from previous mibo threads, I added some aluminum tape to the pipe seams.

Rav why the tape on the pipe? Seems like the heat would make it come off.

If you look at previous Gen mibo threads, some have had the seam in the pipe come undone causing heat damage. Hence the tape on the pipes.

I’ve never put Aluminum tape directly on a pipe wall before, but it seems like easy insurance?

Thanks Bud, just trying to learn the product, plus I want to get one to fly for myself someday, I was think taking some aluminum flashing air duct material you can get at Ace, lowes or home depot and cut a strip in about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch and use that like a clamp. Its soft enough to cut with scissors but much more durable that the aluminum tape. I use it to make heat shields and mounting landing lights to the landing gear struts and it doesn't weigh much more than the tape.

Raf, are the electrics from Mibo, or another electic gear company?

Joe,

Mibo supplied them with my kit. I believe they are Behotec though.

Love that functional AH, who did your pilot's name? I think black would have been more visible, it almost looks like a full size one when it's been build at the factory.

I'm just saying

Rav, who did your cockpit ? Is it the one from Mibo ?
It's really different than mine. I think yours is an A10C cockpit with the new screens. Mine was an old A10A even tho my A10 is a C model.

"Yes Sir, that round thing in the middle is the artificial horizon. Forty years from now when people are building R/C models of the A-10 they want to make it look just like that one".

I have a Gen 4 A10 and planning to convert the gear to electric. Has anyone done this?
