That light blue and orange viper! I love that color scheme!

This is the most epic pic thread ever on RCU. Sticky anyone?!

Scale Composites H.S. Gnat with other company at a JMA Meeting at Bruntingthorpe
A little history on the the full size Aircraft with thanks to the Heritage Aircraft Trust :-The Gnat Display Team’s third airframe is Folland Gnat registered G-MOUR. It flies in the colours of the famous Yellowjacks display team.

Gnat T.Mk1, Construction Number FL596, was built by Folland at their Hamble factory in early 1964 and first flew on 19th September 1964. It was accepted into RAF service on 8th October 1964 and was allocated the serial number XS102, serving at RAF Valley with No4 Flying Training School (FTS). It underwent various modifications at Bitteswell in February 1970 and continued flying with 4FTS until 1978, finally being Struck Off Charge on 31st March 1979, having completed 14 years of useful instructional service with the RAF.

In civilian hands, G-MOUR has been repainted into the Yellowjacks aerobatic team colour scheme and has been given the RAF serial Number XR992, in order to look more authentic – XR992 being one of the founding Yellowjacks airframes.

This is an awesome thread especially when we are cooped at homes. But, I have noticed that in every group of pictures, Dave Wilshire is there and normally is doing something. He is a valuable asset that many many of us don't have at our areas. So I hope people around him appreciate it .

Totally agree Dave W is always keen to help, at some meetings he rarely gets to fly his own Jets as too busy, test flying, or setting up other pilots models, a great source of information too, he has some great tips in his articles in RCJI.
P.S. Washington State?

We are part of a fabulous hobby, people live for the enjoyment, the life long friends that are gained and the memories that are made. The friendships go much wider than the hobby, I have met real friends through RC flying, people who put themselves out to help you, support you, they genuinely care. I’ve been in the hobby since birth, my father was in the business, his friends were my friends, and my family. He passed nearly five years ago and my mother still has his modelling buddies call her weekly to check she’s OK.
You get out of this hobby what you put in, I get as much joy out of my customers ( friends!) having a great weekend, it amazes me that many business owners don’t realise that putting themselves second does more for future sales than any amount of social media posting! I don’t know anyone who goes flying, has a bad time and thinks on the drive home I must buy something else to make me miserable 🙂

Stay safe everyone and keep posting the memories AP.

Happiness is not something ready made, it comes from your own actions,

I am glad to have valuable friends in this hobby;

Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to see your father, but I'm sure he was as great as you are, people like you keep the model flag up in the UK,

This selection was taken in October 2010 at one of the "Large Model Association" end of season static shows at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon, Warwickshire.

It gives members the opportunity to display their built, and partly built models that the public can expect to see at future seasons shows. The VC10 started out in a RAF Airborne Tanker scheme complete with retractable fuel Drogues, it has recently worn a scheme used by BOAC when they operated the type in passenger service, it looks superb.

Javad,
Javad,
Yes, transporting and storage of those very large Jets would cause some logistical challenges for me too, I fear my wife would be offering ultimatums, and not to my advantage either :-)
