‘The RB45 on the ER50 Doesn’t provide Maximum power to the motor…that warning is on electron web site….there’s something strange if this is new talk to Greg Alderman JAG RC…..I have setup many of these and I never release the smoke…

So I learned some stuff. The RB45 controller has 2 versions, and only one is for the er50. The one setup for er50 has more time built in to fully allow the retract to fully cycle, the other rb45 will short cycle the gear up and down.
Got a hold of greg alderman who is the guy for these things. He can replace the power board on these. I also ordered one from europe.
100% my fault. I was thinking about the cheaper eletronic retracts I have where they are controlled by PWM and 3 wires. SO for servos and these types of gear, I make a multi connector for the wing that all items in the wing share a common ground. This means a standard MPX connector can connect 5 devices all with a common ground.
Get where Im going here? I put the brake and the retract on a common ground. However this is a two wire system, and the controller will reverse the voltage so in reality, there is no ground.
I only had the brakes hooked up a bit during testing, probably why the unit was getting hot from day 1. Later I disconnected the brakes and was testing the gear to route the wiring correctly for the brakes, several cycles.
On my final day before flight I hooked the brakes up. I believe what happed is I had the brakes actuated, and then did a retract cycle and it was opposite polarity of the brakes and BOOM. Nice little arc welder.
NO damage anywhere on the jet thank god, and the unit still functions, even the front continues to function, but the mains wont move and god I hope they are ok.
In retrospect this all makes 100% sense, and I am not the first one to do this.
So Im on the hunt for a 4 pin connector, I may opt for just using a multiplex.

A few years ago I made the same mistake with the ground wire assumption on a different brand and yep, smoked it. I ended up going with a 12 pin connector leaving two extra pins that will come in handy if I ever install lights.

Just an update on my Rebel Pro, I was at the Princeton jet rally last weekend and had a great time flying my Rebel Pro.
Just amazing how smooth and stable it has with a large flight window for doing aerobatic maneuvers or just getting out and hauling the mail quickly and landing very slow.
It has a distinct sound like a whistling one when it gets above 3/4 throttle, I was flying at 2100' or 640m it was amazing with the Swiwin 240 had unlimited vertical as i had to stop at the set ceiling altitude it would fly out of site.
What all of the previous pilots have described about this aircraft and all its flight characteristics are true; I'm very happy with it.

I believe the howling is coming from how short the pipe is compared to a longer one; anyways it's a rocket ship and a beautiful slow-flying jet. Love it

Do you find it hard getting the front nut thread on the wing stud? Mine is very hard to thread, and I guess my "sausage fingers" make it more difficult. Lol

I set my engine distance at 27 mm, average distance.

The nylon likes to cross thread. Im not a fan of the cheap hardware the rebel comes with but its a small negative. I plan to find an alternative to the nylon knobs.
Ill be flying mine this weekend finally. I only have 57 degrees of flaps but I think that is enough, can someone tell me what mm of down elevator I should start with when deploying flaps?

check the threads they are aluminum and very easy to damage, mines got like that once when one of my wings slid out the included wings bags a bit and just rubbed the floor,(got revoc bags after that) I fixed it with just the hobby knife at the field one day. Just the first thread on stud was very slightly bent

Skunkwerks Yeah, I keep telling Jonathan to take a vacation down here to Texas so he can fly the Max. I've flown all the Rebel models save the Hot now and they all fly very close to one another. I have no issues so far with the wing nuts but the fuse is massive on the Max. I'm a big boy and that airplane makes me look like a normal sized human. It's very easy to get my entire arm in the fuse to tighten or loosen the wing nuts.
Dansy Those Seacraft nuts.....do they fit on the existing aluminum studs or are the stock ones not 6mm? PS - I'm just trying to save myself from pulling out the calipers.
