I have been looking into doing that. I used to own a B-55 Baron and a few Bonanzas. The B55 fuselage is the same from the firewall back. The wings need an extension on the tip. The horizontal and vertical tail surfaces would need enlargement. I would build a fiberglass nose and use the nose gear in basically the same position. The main gear could remain the same.

Yeah, you go Teamscale! The size difference in the fin/rudder is just visible in those three views. If you need it, I can give you all the measurements or dimensions for the B-55. As said above from just about the firewall back the 33 is the same. I think the stab is close enough to work, too. The nacelles shouldn't be too hard to fabricate, either. This just looks sooo do able. Go for it, man!

Looking forward to this bash. I've been thinking about doing the T.F. Arrow as a Seneca 1.
Good luck with your project.

The Seneca-series were derived from the old Cherokee Six/Lance/Saratoga singles. A Piper twin with the Archer/Arrow fuselage would be the Seminole. That wouldn't be too difficult a kitbash.

I was actually considering doing this with the Sig Bonanza kit. I'm building a regular BE33 now, but I have another kit just for the BE55 bash. So I am very interested in your project, although it is larger than the one I had in mind.

I love this idea. Keep the posts coming. Will you be able to use the Bonanza wing, or will it have to be done frome scratch?

Teamscale, that view shows the older style wind screen. A lot of Baron/Bonanzas have been updated to the so called "speed slope" wind screen. Mine has had this done. I forget what year it was changed at the factory. The 58 three view shows the newer profile. The TF Bonanza Wind screen will work perfectly. I just can not wait to see what you come up with. Are you thinking a 'glass nose or a built up nose?

While waiting for some glue to dry on the Arrow I rolled out the Barron drawing to see how the Fiberglass Spec. Canopy / cabin top fits.
Looks good. I have to resist the temptation to start cutting balsa. till the ARROW is finished!!!!

I saw the Piper post. Looks like you at the point where the airframe needs to "season" a bit. I think you should put it away for a while, and get this Baron going for the rest of us.

Hey man how about a Twin Bonanza. It would be less major rework. I bet it would be the only one at any event you attend. Can you image an engine out on that! Here a link with some info:

Wow, that looks very doable...if I could find another Bonanza kit (curses to you, Top Flite!)

I have one that will be stock, I would love another to do that twin.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against film covering...just not on any plane that you are taking to a majority of the events you listed...will they even let you through the gates at Top Gun or Scale Masters with a film covered model?

Like the bash idea and nice drawings. Is that pencil on vellum? Wow. It's ye olde "CAD software???...We don't need no steenking CAD software" thing, huh? Good job!

The Seneca-series were derived from the old Cherokee Six/Lance/Saratoga singles. A Piper twin with the Archer/Arrow fuselage would be the Seminole. That wouldn't be too difficult a kitbash.
You are correct but to bash a Seminole would involve building a completely new tapered wing and dealing with the t-tail. The Seneca 1 with the hershey bar wing is based on the Cherokee Six which is based on the the PA28. I thought it would be a lot easier to lengthen the fuse, increase the tail size and extend the wingtips a bit. It wouldn't be perfect but I think it would capture the look of the Seneca.

Chuck
