EXT1 is set to Jeti Box by default. Option to change this to telemetry input is in the CB200 device explorer menu. Look under general settings. I think. :)

TX sends data to each RX every 10ms (100Hz mode)
CB uses data connected to RX1 until no data is received, then switches to RX2. CB returns to RX1 when valid data is received.

Why give up all the benifits the Cortex provides? We have used the cable loom interface with the Central Boxes for years. There has never ever been a problem related to tieing the CB ports together...
