WOW, I'm glad I just found the "tech note" on the top flight web site. Yep 8 1/8". I am right at the point of mounting the engine on mine next and this could have been a fun issue to resolve later.

Hmm, that's odd, my manual says on pg 37 " The back of the spinner should be spaced 7 7/8" from the firewall no matter what mounting method is used".

Just wondering is your DA mounted with the 2 1/2" stand offs or the 3"?
