Interesting... I beleive that build is in Brazil if I recall the customer name correctly.
The first model was covered in litho plate. The more detailed airframe is Flite-Metal.

You have to be careful that you are always traveling (read as moving) the hinge at right angles to the
centerline if you are working with 50/50 aileron hinge mounting...which is typically NOT...

There is a Robart Hinge Point centering jig available to assure the holes are centered.

All typical modeling paints used today will work well...
All automotive single and two part paints will work well...
All water based paints will work well...

It is in the surface preparation...

The dump door is open proportional to either a throttle setting or temperature. Look at
multiple photos and you will see it in different positions at different times.

Jan:

You might want to hook a servo to the scoop dump door and a "y" harness on the throttle
servo so when the throttle is low the door is open about 30%...closed at 100% throttle.
