I used the tail door method shown with ARF and has worked well for 5 years, replace rubber bands once a year. Don't forget to install centering springs on tail wheel or it will jam in the up position.

Robarts will fit just fine....may want to beef up structure a little. Everthing you need to know is in :TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly (1ST MISHAP!!!)

I have a Moki 210 in my 1/5 TF P-51 and really like the combination. If I had know when I built it what I know now, I would have used the DA 50.

On the other thread, (TF 1/5 Scale P-51 ARF Assembly (1ST MISHAP!!!) there was a guy that made a two part wing. That thread is about 62 pages long and the wing guy was quite some time ago...

I did use the CA hinges on my P-51. I installed Radio South hinges (the blue ones), sealed the upper and lower hinge line with ironed in Ultacoat, this has worked fine for several years.

I really didn't have and problem with the tail retract doors installed as per the instructions that came with the ARF. I did use an idea I saw on another thread to install centering...

Man I went into brain drain reading that last message of yours. There is no way I will ever install door as you outlined. As A matter of fact my TF GS P-51 doesn't even have doors on it....
