Sorry John, I dont have any all metal ones left. I only had a handfull of them made by my machinist and they all went very fast.

Still got the blueprint? You know, the guy that did the barrels for you is not the only machinist that you know. I recently picked up a 1/6 scale PAK 38 and I'm thinking about making an aluminum barrel for that. The only problem is that Barrel is sooo long I'm sure it will give me balance trouble. Did you see the barrel I made for my 15 cm howitzer?

A quick update to the Haya Centurion,
If you have preordered then you will soon get an e-mail outlining the reason for the delay in its arrival which will now be around the end of March.

The delay mentioned is due to Covid affecting the workforce & the Chinese New Year starting next week - for 2 weeks.

Those are indeed not shown, but not what I was refering to.
Dead centre of the photo are the parts for the Horstmann suspension bogies, an inner half X 6 & an outer half X 5 - so 1 inner half is missing.

Oh the cat is out of the bag.
live corresponded with the gent doing the IDF kit and known about it. He’s making the Shot Kal and the full uparmored late Centurion IDF kits.
some amazing stuff. His work is really good, I have some of his products so these kits will be excellent quality.
I asked him if they would fit Tamiya and he told me he did not know.

Longer answer - Maybe, think it will depend on how the sub components go together & how close the meaurements for each model are.

Just been advised - I am happy to notify you that the Haya 1/16 Centurion container was loaded today and it is on the way to the UK. The estimated dock time would be between 21 and 26 March. It is taking a few days for custom clearance. Then we will try our best to arrange delivery as soon as the container is delivered to our warehouse.

Not sure how Haya does it but Erik once told me that at taigen they repackaged the tanks and the goal was for the box to be able to withstand a 12 ft fall to a concrete floor without any damage. However, when buying heng long tanks I have received several of them that were damaged in shipping. Nothing serious and easily repairable, but still a pita.

Back in the day I got to be pretty good friends with one of the guys at imex so my tanks always received special attention and I never had any problems. Some of you guys might not remember this but I actually got the very first jagdtiger that was shipped in North america. That was because of my relationship with Erik and Bill, the owner. They came out about 2 weeks earlier over in europe, but those tanks came with zinc gearboxes whereas mine came with the newest black steel ball bearing gearboxes, as did all of the tanks shipped from imex.

Now, me shipping tanks is a different story. When I sold my Mato all-metal P3 I sent it out to California and when it got there the tank had shifted in the Box and pushed the barrel of the tank right through the front of the radio. Believe it or not, this had no effect on function. Everything worked just the way it was supposed to, except there was a hole in the front of the radio. The buyer was pretty cool about it and accepted the tank anyway, but it was definitely a learning experience for me. You absolutely cannot pack tanks too carefully. If there's any way to screw up a box, ups, fedex, or USPS will definitely find it.

Haya emailed me a similar status up date, looks like the Centurion preorder RTR is arriving in the USA sometime in April. Perhaps, the Haya detachable barrel maybe a workable safety shipping feature. It hopefully will prevent turret/barrel damage that is common on HL RTR and other shipped RTR RC tanks. Though, in my opinion the best way to ship a RTR RC tank is to detach both the barrel and turret and bubble wrap each individually. Anyway, hoping against hope my order arrives unscathed, if not, at least repairable. Not a great fan of the Centurion today, but I am old enough to have had a UK Dinkey Toy Metal Centurion Toy Tank when a grade school kid and that toy was a favorite then. So things might change. And if I consider the Haya Centurion something I do not want after all, I can get and build the Tamiya Centurion from the AAF Museum and gift the Haya to a nephew. By the way Taigen also never shipped me a damaged RTR RC Tank, including the Camouflaged Jaagdtiger, which they sold at a huge discount; good guys!

It is the USA “USPS, UPS and FEDEX” that are hard on delivery packages, breakage is common and insurance is mandatory. “They generally employ gorillas out back”, as labeled by the US Postal Service Manager, whom I was reporting a damaged beyond repair parcel contents too; a few years ago at my Southern California home town post office. That clearly sums up “the why for” most of the USA broken packages.

John you are very correct about how to ship a tank. I have seen several locals receive tanks shipped to them that were heavily damaged in shipment from private parties that dont pack them worth a darn. I do as you said, I separate the turret from the hull and sometimes the gun barrel as well.
Just yesterday I played middle man for two friends. I took personal delivery of a nice all metal chassis T90MS from a local club mate and packed it and shipped it to Barbados. I removed the top of the turret, packed it inside a separate box to protect all the stuff on top and remvoed the barrel and wrapped it up separately as well. Then I used my awesome Hooben Merkava box to pack it all into. I can gurantee its going to get there in one piece. ALot of work but veyr well worth the effort to protect such a nice tank model.
